Toetanchamon-exhibition in Madrid
In March Aggreko received a phone call of Semmel Concert Veranstaltungsservice with a request for help.
Together with the Portuguese company Artstation, Semmel Concert realizes the production of the worldwide exhibition concerning the sensations of archaeology, Toetanchamon’s tomb and treasures.
This exposition takes place in pavilion 12 of the Casa the Campo, but there was an issue concerning the climate control in the building, which needed to be resolved. Semmel Concerts & Artstation contacted Aggreko for the necessary equipment not only to find a technical solution, but also to find a solution which was economically feasible during the six months that the exhibition would last.
The total space to cool consisted of a building with two floors totaling 1,600 square meters, a basement in which unearthing would be projected for a selected group of 40 persons and a top floor in which the results of unearthing of the tomb are exposed.
Aggreko installed Mozart air diffusers with a retour system for the lower floor and a similar system for the top floor, everything supported by two high pressure ACHP160 (100 kW) air handlers and two ACHP80 air handlers, which were fed by a generator of the newest generation (320 kVA GHP2), backed up by a fuel tank of 3,000 liters. If necessary, Aggreko could also supply an additional 100 kW chiller.
Despite the fact that the project was executed during more than two months in the Spanish heat with temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius, we can only say that the operation is a success. This was supported by the congratulations of the customers we received for the realized end result.
